The Central Institute of Fisheries Technology with the support of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research has undertaken work on this winning design. A prototype of the Juvenile Fish Excluder cum Shrimp Sorting Device (JFE-SSD) JFE-SSD was fabricated, and the device was field-tested in late 2005 and December 2006. The device is currently being reviewed for optimization and further trials.
